Trash island
It always amazes me that we today are still polluting the ocean as we do. It was sad to watch the video and to know that such a dump is floating out in the ocean and killing sea life as we sit and do nothing about it. With all the money the government waste everyday it's hard to believe they havnt got a spare dime to clean up this mess, educate other countries and im sure it wouldnt be hard to get volunteers to help up with the phyiscal work. There is actually a ship that can clean up massive kept beds that need to be trimmed back and it seems like the type of ship could be used to clean up Trash island. What bothers me is that the sea life that suffers from "human" error, but is littering an error? I believe most people around the world are just to lazy to take an extra 5 seconds and put trash where it belongs.

Such a good point, Ryan: is it human "error"? I don't think so. So common people litter and don't even think about where it might go. I haven't seen the video yet, but after reading this I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI had NO idea about trash island until this class. It simply shocked me watching the video. It's really sad that we can't do much about it...
